Hello! My name is Slim Essid and I am working in a Language school as a French teacher in Ottawa Canada. I graduated from the University of Ottawa in 2017 by obtaining a Baccalaureate combining a Major in Political Science and a minor in Management. I am also a graduate of the Nantes academy. Indeed, I obtained my high school diploma (high school) with honorable mention in 2009. I therefore received a French education from an early age. Having traveled extensively around the world, I have encountered many cultures and learned to adapt to change and different types of mentalities. Over the years, it has also allowed me to learn three languages; English, French and Italian, and begin a deep process of personal development. Of all my professional experiences, the one that has marked me the most is that of Educational Assistant. I worked for a year with an asperger's and blind student. The sense of responsibility, given my role as an intermediary between the student and the University, and the patience that I had to develop by adapting to his way of learning, brought me a lot as a person . I teach, from November 2019 to today, French to an employee of the Canadian Government so that she passes her oral exam. The courses consist of interview simulations and parts related to grammar, conjugation and vocabulary. I often advise him, as with all students, to watch his favorite Movies and series in French and make a summary for the next session. This allows you to expose your brain to the French language as much as possible, because not everyone lives in a French-speaking environment, so you have to create it yourself. Over the years, I have noticed that this method works very well and is very appreciated by learners since it allows them to learn with practice. Indeed, for me, the theory must serve the practice and not the opposite. My courses are therefore mainly focused on practice. Moreover, according to the latest scientific research, the best way to learn is that of verbal communication. In addition, I also do tutoring sessions for children from 8 to 10 years old who are in the beginner level. So I have a wide range of teaching skills. I teach not only French in general, but also French for business or conversational French. Finally, my lessons take place on Skype because it allows more flexibility in terms of the timetable and allows, among other things, to reduce any risk of distraction (especially with headphones)
